I know you feel like you don’t fit in this world. Like maybe you were dropped off on the wrong planet. You try to speak, and no one hears you, so you stop speaking all together. People tell you that you’re just shy, but you have so much you wish you could share, if only you knew how. You watch others closely, how they make friends, approach each other and laugh, even how they know how to get themselves into a group photo. You don’t understand why you can’t, so you shrink yourself so much, trying not to take up too much space.
You don’t understand why daily life is a constant battle of wanting to stay on earth, why your heart pounds inside your chest so fast, and why you fall apart at the end of the day when you’re alone. I want you to know that even though it feels like it, there is nothing wrong with you.
You’re allowed to be here, allowed to take up space and allowed to be you. I know you don’t believe me, but you are going to be okay. It’s not easy I know, it’s hard, don’t let anyone dismiss how you feel. You have so much to share, to enjoy and you are allowed to live your own life. You’ve done it kid, keep going.
